Haileybury wishes to appoint a well-qualified and suitably experienced Head of Computer Science to lead our successful department. 

The School is seeking a dynamic and committed teacher with a degree in Computer Science or a related subject. The candidate should have previous experience of teaching both GCSE and A Level, while previous experience of IB is desirable but not essential. The ideal candidate will employ a variety of teaching methods to engage and inspire pupils, confidently integrate digital tools into their teaching and encourage independent thinking while challenging students beyond the curriculum.

Applicants will be expected to demonstrate an impressive subject knowledge, a passion for Computer Science, and a track record of outstanding success in teaching and learning.

Computer Science is offered as GCSE, A Level, and International Baccalaureate (IB) courses, alongside bespoke in-house options. These courses cover all aspects of modern computing, including programming in Python, using web technologies like HTML and JavaScript, app design, and understanding the practical and ethical implications of AI. Pupils also gain a thorough understanding of the hardware systems that underpin these technologies.

Our Computer Science department is highly collaborative, offering a supportive and stimulating environment where teachers can develop professionally and contribute to an outstanding educational experience.
