We are seeking to appoint a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, or a suitable candidate with the desire to train as an HLTA, to join our friendly and dedicated team. The successful candiate will work with individuals, pairs and groups of children to support the delivery of learning within the classroom.  It is also expected that the candidate will have the skills and experience to cover for teachers on a regular basis . The ability to track the learning of groups of pupils will also be an advantage.

You will need to have:

  • An understanding of how children learn;
  • Evidence of a high level of numeracy and literacy skills;
  • An understanding of how to support individuals and groups of children with their learning and development;
  • Experience of covering classes is desirable 
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to keep detailed assessment notes;
  • A flexible attitude and the desire to continually improve your practice;
  • Good communication skills;
  • Be able to use your own initiative as well as working collaboratively.
