Our school is located in the heart of Knebworth Village, which is a close community on the outskirts of Stevenage. About the role
This is a full time Higher-Level Teaching Assistant role for 28.75 hours (08:30 to 15:30) 5 days a week, and will include some lunchtime duties.
The successful applicant will:
Provide learning activities for individuals and groups of pupils under the professional direction and supervision of a qualified teacher, differentiating and adapting learning programmes to suit the need of allocated pupils
Assess, record and report on development, progress and attainment as agreed with the teacher
Monitor and record pupil responses and learning achievements
Select and adapt appropriate resources/methods to facilitate agreed learning activities
Cover class teacher absence
Have a Maths and English GCSE qualification at Grade C or equivalent
Have a good understanding of the curriculum.
Possess excellent communication and written skills.
Be empathetic and understanding of children’s individual learning needs.
Be patient, flexible and have a good sense of humour.
Be willing to go the extra mile for the children in their care.
Experience of working within a similar role is desirable but training will be provided for the right candidate as we are passionate about providing opportunities for professional development at all levels.
