About the school

About the role 

This is a full time Higher-Level Teaching Assistant role for 28.75 hours (08:30 to 15:30) 5 days a week, and will include some lunchtime duties. 

The successful applicant will:

  • Provide learning activities for individuals and groups of pupils under the professional direction and supervision of a qualified teacher, differentiating and adapting learning programmes to suit the need of allocated pupils

  • Assess, record and report on development, progress and attainment as agreed with the teacher

  • Monitor and record pupil responses and learning achievements

  • Select and adapt appropriate resources/methods to facilitate agreed learning activities

  • Cover class teacher absence

  • Have a Maths and English GCSE qualification at Grade C or equivalent

  • Have a good understanding of the curriculum.

  • Possess excellent communication and written skills.

  • Be empathetic and understanding of children’s individual learning needs.

  • Be patient, flexible and have a good sense of humour.

  • Be willing to go the extra mile for the children in their care.

Experience of working within a similar role is desirable but training will be provided for the right candidate as we are passionate about providing opportunities for professional development at all levels.
