About the role

Join our compassionate , trauma-informed school community as a Learning Mentor

Do you believe that every child deserves to feel safe, seen and supported in school?  Are you calm, nurturing and committed to making a real difference in children's lives? If so, we would love to hear from you.

We are a therapeutic SEMH primary school with a unique, trauma informed approach to education.  Our children may have experienced adversity or struggle with emotional regulation - but they are also full of potential, creativity and resilience.  With the right support they can thrive.

We are looking for a Learning Mentor who shares our belief that relationships are the foundation of learning  and that connection comes before correction.  In this role, you will work closely with class teams to create a safe, predictable and compassionate environment where children can regulate, grow and flourish.

We are looking for someone who:

Is kind, patient and attuned to the needs of children who may communicate distress through behaviour

Understands or is willing to learn about trauma, attachment, and nervous system regulation

Can support emotional as well as academic development

Works well as part of a collaborative and reflective team

Brings curiosity, empathy, and a sense of humour to their work

Previous experience in SEMH or therapeutic settings is helpful but not essential.  What matters most is your willingness to learn, yoru commitment to inclusion, and your ability to build trust with children who need adults they can rely on.

We are proud of our strong staff community, our whole school therapeutic ethos and our deep commitment to equity and care.  Full training and ongoing development in trauma informed practice will be provided.

If you want to be part of a school that puts relationships first and believes in every child's capacity to heal, grow, and succeed, we'd love to hear from you.

This position is full time, and includes hours working with children after school and in the holidays.  This is therefore a 52 week contract.  If term time only is preferred this will be considered for exceptional candidates.
