About the role
Do you enjoy supporting individual children with complex needs to help them fulfill their potential? Are you able to communicate well and work effectively as part of a friendly, supportive and dedicated team? Would you enjoy the challenge of working in a classroom with children who are happy and keen to learn? Do you work well on your own, as well as in a team? Are you able to use your initiative, are creative, empathetic, flexible and enjoy engaging with children and parents?
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, energetic and caring Learning Support Assistant to work with pupils who have complex needs.
You will need to be able to build up an effective relationship with the pupils and develop in-depth knowledge of them to ensure that you are able to provide a level of support that allows them to fully access their education. You will need to work with the class teacher, Lead LSA and SENCO to adapt planning to suit the specific needs of the children. You will also need to create effective communications with parents, liaising closely with them in support of their child. The ideal candidate will be an individual with a calm and patient manner who is confident in working within a classroom setting, small group setting and 1-1 setting.
We will offer you a supportive working environment where your talents will be valued and nurtured, whilst being part of a team that champions children’s welfare. This would be a great opportunity for anyone who wants to gain some experience working in a school on a 1-1 basis at the same time as increasing their experience of special educational needs.
