About the role
We are seeking a professional and caring individual to work closely between the Learning Support Department and wider curriculum departments to improve engagement and outcomes for pupils with SEND in their literacy skills, with a focus on KS3 and KS4.
You will provide support for our highest need pupils, as well as working with the Director of Learning - English and School Literacy Lead to develop and deliver programmes of support and intervention for pupils with literacy barriers to learning.
The successful candidate should have:
Literacy and numeracy skills equivalent to NVQ Level 2 or GCSE Grade C in English and Maths
Good literacy skills supported by relevant qualifications
Deep understanding of literacy and its impact on learning
Experience with SEN students or willingness to develop skills
Ability to work with a minimum of supervision and within a team
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent organisational skills
Contract: Part-time, permanent
Grade: H5 (Full-time equivalent salary from £27,254 to £29,540 per annum, plus annual outer fringe allowance of £729)
Hours:
27 hours per week across four days (Mondays to Thursdays)
Term time plus 1 week
Working hours: 8:30 am - 3:45 pm, including 30-minute unpaid lunch break (with free lunch on site)
Actual Salary: £17,466 to £18,893 per annum, inclusive of outer fringe allowance (i.e. roughly 0.62 of Full-time equivalent)
