Ashlyns is an oversubscribed school with over 1500 students, including a successful Sixth Form that was rated "Outstanding" by Ofsted in October 2023. Maths Department The Mathematics department aims to help students appreciate the power of maths and promote curiosity, resilience, and enjoyment. The goal is to develop confident mathematicians who can apply their knowledge and skills to real-world problems.The department has a proven track record of success, with 81% of students achieving grades 9-4 in Maths at Key Stage 4 in 2024, which is significantly above the national average of 60%.
The ideal candidate will have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). They should have knowledge of the National Curriculum and be able to use a range of strategies to promote learning and manage behavior.
The school is looking for someone with enthusiasm, integrity, and strong team-working skills. They should be flexible, reliable, and well-organized.
Desirable qualities include the ability to use data to inform planning and improve student performance, and an innovative and creative approach to their job role.
