About the role
Safari Stars Nursery is a family run business located in Hatfield, Hertfordshire.
Due to an increase in numbers in our 2 year old room we are looking to welcome on board a passionate and enthusiastic Level 3 Qualified Nursery Nurse to join our team on a full time basis working Monday - Friday (40 hours per week).
You must have sound knowledge of the EYFS and you will be a key person for up to 6 key children working with children aged 2 to 3 years.
You will receive full induction training ensuring you have a clear understanding of how as a setting we use our ambitious curriculum to plan exciting activities for the children to support their early development ensuring they thrive in our care.
You will be guided every step of the way by our highly trained staff team ensuring that you flourish as a practitioner and a professional with potential for progression within the company. Not only will you gain extensive first hand experience but you will also benefit from lots of different training including in house and external training.
Your shift patterns will vary each week between the hours of 7.45am and 6pm.
Responsibilities and Duties
Supervision and interaction with children
Supervision of meal times
Observation, planning and assessment - Inline with the new EYFS
Building professional partnerships with parents and carers
Being a supportive Key person to a minimum of 6 children - this will require a good standard of written English.
Being alert in Safeguarding and how to deal with any safeguarding concerns effectively.
Planning fun, stimulating activities that relate to the children's interests and development.
Qualifications and Skills
Experience working with children in a nursery and being a key person is essential
Sound Knowledge of the EYFS and able to carry out assessments inline with the curriculum
Knowledge of child development
Level 3 in childcare & education as recognised by the DFE.
