About the role
Potten End Pre-School is a charity run pre-School catering for 2-4 years olds in a lovely village setting. We have a strong focus on learning through play and developing children in a safe and nurturing environment, preparing them over 2 years towards the transition to primary school.
The core principles of Potten End Pre-School and its staff are:
· Every child is a unique child, who is constantly learning and can be resilient, capable, confident, and self-assured;
· Children learn to be strong and independent through positive relationships;
· Children learn and develop well in enabling environments with teaching and support from adults, who respond to their individual interests and needs and help them to build their learning over time. Children benefit from a strong partnership between practitioners and parents and/or carers;
We are looking for an Early Years Practitioner to join our team. We’re looking for someone with a willingness to learn and work as a member of our team, with a key focus on developing young pre-school children and preparing them for transition to primary school. We are interested in developing staff and their experience and providing support in developing their qualifications. The suitable candidate will have at least Level 2 or 3 early years education and childcare qualification or equivalent.
The role’s key focus is:
· To provide high quality play experiences which fully implement the early years foundation stage.
· To ensure that the Pre-School offers the highest standards of physical and emotional care, health and safety, and personal and food hygiene at all times, and all children’s individual needs are addressed and met.
· To ensure all children have equal access to opportunities to learn and develop
· To support all planned and unplanned learning and development activities and experiences, both child-initiated and adult directed.
· To build good relationships with parents/carers to support the children and ensure their needs are recognised and met.
· Ensure correct monitoring and information sharing of children’s development with colleagues and parent/carers.

Pay: Dependent on experience, starting at national living wage.
