About the role

You will provide behaviour outreach support (including working with individuals and small groups of children) and advice to schools and professionals (as required) in the DSPL5 area.
To support high quality transition for children moving to school reception class, with a particular focus on children and families with identified needs. This post will support all early years settings across Hatfield and Welwyn Garden City to identify those most at need of support. This role will be based at Howe Dell School with the expectation of travelling to other settings.
We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate experience in:
• Planning and delivering a programme of support to children with SEMH needs
• Supporting the early years transition process
• Providing transition support for identified children in early years settings
• Working with early years settings to identify children who require additional support to settle into reception class
• Working with primary schools, early years settings, other agencies/professionals and parents/carers as appropriate
• Working with children with special needs

The contract is term time only for 32 hours per week. It is salaried at grading H5 –H6 depending upon skill set and experience. A flexible working approach would be considered. This is a Fixed Term contract until July 2026 in the first instance and may continue dependent on funding from the DSPL5. The position will start in September 2025.
