Primary Teacher - Physical Education (PE) Specialist

About the role

The Governing Body of St. Thomas More Catholic Primary School, Berkhamsted and St Albert the Great Catholic Primary School, Hemel Hempstead, seek to appoint a dynamic, enthusiastic Class Teacher with a specialism in Physical Education (PE) to work across both schools.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning across two Catholic primary school settings. In addition to fulfilling the general duties of a class teacher, the postholder will take a lead role in developing, coordinating and delivering the PE provision across both schools, ensuring all pupils have access to a rich, inclusive, and engaging physical education curriculum.

They will support the wider aims of the school through active participation in curriculum enrichment, school events, and by upholding and modelling the school’s Catholic ethos and values in all areas of school life.

St. Thomas More Catholic Primary School is situated in Dacorum Borough of South-West Hertfordshire, with extensive outdoor facilities which have contributed to the school becoming the first OPAL school in Berkhamsted. A Forest School is also offered within a beautiful wooded area in the grounds. The school is led by an Executive Senior Team, who also have responsibility for St. Albert the Great Catholic Primary School in Hemel Hempstead, and both schools work closely together under their leadership.

Following conversion to academy status in the summer term of 2023, St. Thomas More is now part of the St. Mark’s hub of All Saints Catholic Academy Trust, joining an established family of Catholic schools who provide mutual support and healthy challenge, working collaboratively to continually provide an “Outstanding Catholic Education for All”
