About the role

SEMH Primary Teacher – join our Attachment and Trauma-Informed Team

Salary: MPS + SEN Allowance (MORE FOR THOSE WITH SIGNIFICANT PROVEN EXPERIENCE)

Contract Type: Full Time, Permanent

Start Date: SEPTEMBER 2025

At Haywood Grove we do connection, boundaries and results.

We are an attachment and trauma informed SEMH primary school, and we know that relationships can change lives.

We believe that a trauma-informed approach is a universal precaution - it is not soft behaviour management, low standards or a free pass.    It’s about high expectations held with humanity.

We are looking for a strong, caring teacher who:

  • Knows that structure and predictability provide safety
  • Holds boundaries without battles
  • Refuses to give up on any child, ever
  • Teaches with creativity, clarity and calm

You’ll be part of a team that uses regulation, reparation and relational leadership to teach children how to succeed and manage emotions - not just comply.

You’ll plan creative, personalised learning and hold high standards for every child’s progress.

We offer:

  • A small, supportive, friendly and fun team
  • Access to clinical supervision and on-going continuous professional development
  • Opportunities to innovate and shape practice
  • Prioritised well-being support
  • A relational and neuroscientific approach to behaviour and learning

You will:

- Be an enthusiastic and reflective teacher, with a strong grasp of primary and/or early years pedagogy

- Have the flexibility and creativity to adapt teaching to individual needs

- Build strong relationships with children who may have experienced trauma or who have medical diagnoses of conditions such as ASD or ADHD

- Work closely with a multi-disciplinary team to support each child’s holistic development

- Believe that every child can make progress with the right support and approach

Visits to the school are very warmly welcomed.
