About the role

1:1 SEN TA

Do you have high expectations that all children can achieve their full potential? Are you a positive, enthusiastic person who would like to work with a supportive and forward thinking team? If you have answered yes, then this could be the perfect role for you.

Tanners Wood is a two form entry school with a commitment to ensuring that all children are included. Our children are happy, well behaved individuals with a passion for learning. Their politeness and developing growth mind sets inspire us all everyday.

We are looking for a person who ideally has experience working with children with special needs, is confident, flexible and able to support a child 1:1. Every day will be different and you will be able to make a difference.

The support is for a child in Key Stage 1. This would be a fixed term contract for as long as the child is with us at Tanners Wood. Experience of working with children with SEN is highly desirable. Candidates must possess both Maths and English GCSE qualifications.

The hours of work are Monday to Friday (8.50am - 1pm). The salary will be H1-H2 depending on experience, the salaries indicated are based on 20 hours and 50 minutes per week term time only. There is the opportunity for further hours in the afternoon.

Prospective candidates are encouraged to submit their application as soon as possible, as we reserve the right to withdraw this vacancy before the advertised closing date if a suitable candidate is appointed.

We warmly welcome candidates to come and look around our lovely school and to have an informal chat with our Head to find out more about the role and the children.  Please contact Mrs Beecher to arrange an appointment.

Tanners Wood School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.  Appointment to this post is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check as well as other pre-appointment checks, including an online check , as outlined in Keeping Children Safe in Education (September 2026)
