About the role

We are excited to announce an opportunity for a dedicated and dynamic Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO) to join our team at Pinewood School. In this pivotal role, you will lead a team committed to ensuring that all students, regardless of their needs, receive the support they require to thrive. You will work closely with staff, offering guidance and support to maintain our high expectations and inclusive ethos. As SENCO, you will have the chance to shape the strategic development of our SEN policy and provision, working collaboratively with the headteacher.

We cater to approximately 210 pupils in School Years 7 to 11, all of whom have Education, Health, and Care Plans. Our students face a range of learning difficulties, autism, and speech, language, and communication needs. Your expertise will help them develop the confidence and independence they need to thrive in the community.

?Qualifications required:

  • QTS [note: this is a requirement under the SEND Code of Practice

  • National Award for SEN Coordination, or a willingness to complete the NPQ SENCO within 3 years of appointment [note: this is a requirement under the SEND Code of Practice]
