We are a highly inclusive school that continually looks for ways to further support our children with SEND, particularly those with EHCPs and those awaiting specialist provision placements.

We are seeking to appoint an experienced SEND teacher to lead a team of two full-time Learning Support Assistants, working with a small group of up to six children with a range of additional needs, including Autism, ADHD and Global Developmental Delay, within our dedicated inclusion base, Blossom Room.

Our lovely Blossom Room teacher is leaving in December to commence her maternity leave, and this is a one-year post.

We have worked closely with SEND professionals to ensure that the environment and structure of the day effectively support our learners’ individual needs.

You will be supported by an experienced SENCO and Senior Leadership Team, working collaboratively with class teachers to ensure that children continue to access opportunities alongside their peers within mainstream classrooms and outdoor learning areas, where appropriate.

The successful candidate will ideally have experience working within specialist provision, or substantial experience supporting children with additional needs within a mainstream classroom. You will be keen to focus on the learning and developmental needs of a small group of children within an inclusive mainstream setting.

You will be responsible for assessing, planning and delivering appropriately resourced learning activities using the ‘Sensory Curriculum’, supporting children’s academic, social and emotional development while enhancing their wellbeing.

You will work closely with the SENCO, class teachers and external professionals, while leading a skilled and experienced support team. The role will also involve working in partnership with parents, attending EHCP review meetings and contributing to multi-agency collaboration to ensure that children’s needs are met effectively.
