We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic and committed SEND Teaching Assistant to join our small, inclusive Church of England primary school nestled in the beautiful Hertfordshire countryside.

About the Role:

You will work closely with class teachers, the SENCO, Headteacher and external professionals to support whole class teaching and pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities. This includes 1:1 support (as required), small group interventions, and in-class assistance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils with SEND to access learning, build confidence and achieve personal targets

  • Adapt resources and scaffold tasks under the guidance of the class teacher

  • Promote pupil independence and self-regulation

  • Communicate clearly with staff and parents

  • Help uphold our Christian values and inclusive culture

We’re Looking For Someone Who Has:

Essential:

  • Experience working with children, particularly with SEND

  • A positive, nurturing attitude

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • A commitment to safeguarding children

Desirable:

  • A Level 2/3 TA qualification or equivalent

  • Knowledge of EHCPs, autism, ADHD, or speech and language needs

Job Details:

  • Position: SEND Teaching Assistant

  • Hours: Part-time (term-time only)

  • Salary: H3 (dependent on experience)

  • Contract: Temporary term  (to be discussed at interview)

  • Start date: 15/09/25
