About the role

4Kidz Childcare Ltd is looking for a passionate and experienced Early Years Practitioner to join our enthusiastic and passionate team at our thriving Ofsted graded 'Good' Welwyn Garden City Nursery registered for 45 children.

We offer a safe, stimulating, age appropriate and spacious environment for the children to feel engaged and supported. Having excellent indoor and outdoor facilities offering the children a place they can learn and thrive, practitioners have embedded In the Moment Planning into the daily routine

The successful candidate will have robust knowledge of the EYFS, strong communication, organisational and interpersonal skills. The individual must be highly motivated and have a positive attitude towards working with children. 

You will:

  • share responsibility for ensuring the day to day running of the room, providing a safe, caring and professional environment for the children in your care; to fulfil legal and statutory requirements, reporting to the management of the nursery. You will assist in providing a safe, caring and professional environment for the children in your care. Ensuring the room is organized to fulfil the requirements of the specific age group within the nursery guidelines and policy.
  • Support management team to evidence high level practice of the nursery, such as setting learning journal and input to evaluations tools
  • provide and maintain close supervision of all children in your care at all times including meals and care routines
  • provide a safe and stimulating environment within the established guidelines of the nursery
  • work within the team to lead in planning the curriculum that encourages the development of each child through the delivery of the Early Years Foundation Stage. Effectively managing resources and ensure staff are deployed throughout the nursery to respond to children individual interests.
  • act as a key worker to a small group of children, liaising closely with parents/carers and ensuring each child’s needs are recognized and met
  • plan and implement effective displays of children's work
  • maintain the building in a safe and clean condition ensuring all faults are reported through the appropriate channels
  • Key holder and health and safety duties
  • be committed to developing and maintaining a multi cultural, anti racist, non sexist environment, respecting the children’s individual differences
  • To maintain close liaison with parents of each child in your care, including consultations
