About the role
We need a motivated, committed and trustworthy individual, who can take great pride in looking after our village school.
We are looking for someone who will be responsible for maintaining a clean, tidy, safe and secure environment for our children and adults, but for whom the school feels more than just a place of work.
You will become part of a small dedicated team who all work extremely hard to provide the best for our pupils. Suitable applicants will be:
• skilled and experienced in DIY and general maintenance.
• hard-working and able to use their initiative.
Duties will include:
• managing our small school buildings and grounds
• unlocking the building
• carrying out minor repairs
• maintenance and decorating
• helping to ensure that our school premises are safe and welcoming.
• together with our contract cleaner, you will also need to maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the school premises.
This position is a 6-hour a week part-time post, term time only (+ 3 weeks), and would be spread over 3 days a week 6:30am – 8:30am although times can and sometimes need to be flexible.
Our school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This role involves working closely with children and is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
All applicants are subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check as part of Hertfordshire County Council’s pre-employment checks. Any appointment is subject to satisfactory completion of a DBS and other safeguarding checks and also to satisfactory references being obtained.
