About the role

Required for September 2025

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Teacher of English who will engage, challenge and support our high achieving pupils. You’ll possess energy and desire to inspire a love of English. You will be responsible for delivering English lessons in line with relevant curriculum requirements, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning are maintained, whilst collaborating with the wider English faculty to sustain and raise class achievement to an outstanding level.

The ability to teach A Level is an advantage, but not essential.

The successful applicant will actively model the aims, ethos and values of our Catholic foundation and traditions, supporting and promoting the Catholic Life of the school, considered outstanding by the Diocese of Westminster at the most recent Section 48 inspection.

Why choose us?

St Joan’s has an excellent reputation and is a high performing school where pupils display excellent attitudes towards learning, and behaviour is considered outstanding by Ofsted.

You will be working within a welcoming and supportive team, with the ability to make a real difference. You will have the opportunity to work alongside committed teachers, to observe and share practice on a regular basis.
