Teacher of Mathematics - Part time or full time

Main or Upper Pay Scale 

Start date: September 2024 (July for Early Careers Teachers)

We are seeking a talented and passionate individual to join our team as a Teacher of Maths from September 2024. You will either be an experienced practitioner with excellent pedagogical knowledge and communication skills or have the potential to develop into such a practitioner. The ability to teach across the ability range at key stages 3 and 4 is essential; the ability to teach A Level Maths and/or Further Maths would be an advantage.

 

The Maths Department at Hitchin Girls’ School is a very special place to teach. Each teacher has a primary teaching space which is equipped with state of the art interactive displays.  Resources are abundant and shared widely and the department subscribes to MyMaths, MathsPad, DrFrost maths as well as other resource providing websites. 

At KS4 we offer GCSE maths (Edexcel), Further Certificate in Maths (AQA) and Functional Skills Maths (Levels 1 and 2 through Edexcel).  At KS5 we offer Maths and Further Maths (Edexcel) and Core Maths (AQA). A level Maths is popular with students with strong numbers each year.

We also offer a very robust intervention programme; incorporating maths teachers, tutors, the SEND department and 6th form ambassadors, working with small groups and individuals.The department offers UKMT Challenges (individual and team) as well as lunchtime maths clubs and chess club.
