About the role
Helping every child to shine brighter and brighter
Are you kind, patient and enthusiastic about helping children learn and flourish? We are looking for a Teaching Assistant to join our welcoming school community.
This is initially a maternity cover post for approximately one year, with the possibility of opportunities to continue beyond this period. The maternity cover begins in mid-November 2026, but we would welcome an earlier start to allow time for a smooth transition and to build relationships with children and colleagues.
We reserve the right to close this advert early if we receive a high volume of applications, so we encourage you to apply promptly.
About the role
The role is likely to include one-to-one support for children who need additional help with speech and language, learning and emotional regulation. It may also involve supporting learning within the classroom and delivering targeted interventions.
We recognise that our staff bring different strengths. For the right candidate, we will explore how responsibilities and staff allocation can best meet the needs of our children while making good use of your skills and experience.
Who we are looking for
We would love to hear from someone who:
Builds warm, trusting relationships with children and adults.
Approaches children’s needs with patience, empathy and a willingness to understand.
Is flexible, reliable and works well as part of a team.
Is keen to learn, develop their skills and help children become increasingly confident and independent.
Shares our commitment to a nurturing, inclusive school community.
Experience in a similar role is desirable, but we also welcome applications from those new to working in schools. Transferable skills, knowledge and enthusiasm can make a valuable contribution to our community, and we are interested in what you can bring.
What we offer
Regular continuing professional development and opportunities to learn.
A kind, supportive and fun-loving staff team.
Enthusiastic, kind children who make our school a rewarding place to work.
A nurturing environment in which both children and adults can flourish.
A school community guided by our Christian values of Respect, Courage, Love, Forgiveness, Kindness and Joy.
