About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic, caring and motivated Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and supportive school. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about children's learning and development and enjoys working with children across different age groups and abilities.

The successful candidate will be based primarily across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, supporting teaching and learning in the classroom and working with individual children and small groups. They will also have responsibilities for supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), helping to ensure that all children are included, supported and able to achieve their full potential. From time to time, the role may also involve providing support within our Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).

We are looking for someone who has high expectations of what every child can achieve, is patient, nurturing and adaptable, and is confident in supporting children with a range of learning needs. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to use their initiative and enjoy working collaboratively as part of a team alongside teachers, the SEND team and other members of staff.

Experience of working with children with additional needs would be desirable, as would a good understanding of inclusive practice and strategies to support children's learning, communication and emotional wellbeing. However, we are equally interested in someone with the right attitude, enthusiasm and commitment to making a positive difference to children's lives.
