Teaching Assistant
Start date: September 2026
Teaching Assistant (Interventions)
Part Time | 32.5 Hours per Week | Term Time + INSET Days
Millbrook Primary School
Part of the Bonneygrove & Millbrook Primary Federation
Wanted...
Someone who knows that children come before paperwork.
Someone who can explain fractions without causing panic.
Someone who doesn't mind pretending to be a pirate in Reception at 9:00 am, helping a Year Six child master algebra at 11:00 am and celebrating a child's first successful sentence by lunchtime.
If that sounds like you...keep reading.
We're looking for an outstanding Teaching Assistant to join our fantastic team.
This isn't your average Teaching Assistant role.
You'll work with children from Reception through to Year 6, delivering high-quality interventions that genuinely change lives.
One hour you may be helping a Reception child develop speech sounds.
The next you'll be supporting a Year 3 pupil with reading fluency.
Later you could be helping a Year 6 pupil discover that maths isn't quite as scary as they thought.
Every day is different.
Every child matters.
Every success is celebrated.
What will you be doing?
Working alongside our teachers and SEND team you will:
Deliver Speech and Language interventions
Support children with Reading, Writing and Mathematics
Deliver bespoke interventions for pupils needing additional support
Build children's confidence, resilience and self-belief
Celebrate every tiny step of progress (because they all matter)
Help children discover that learning can actually be fun!
No two days will ever look the same.
And honestly...
We think that's the best part.
We'll provide training
You don't need to know absolutely everything on day one.
We will provide training in specialist intervention programmes and approaches where required.
What we can't train is kindness.
Or patience.
Or warmth.
Or genuinely caring about children.
That's the bit we're looking for.
We're looking for someone who:
✔ Believes every child can succeed.
✔ Smiles...a lot.
✔ Can stay calm when glue ends up somewhere unexpected.
✔ Notices the little things that make a huge difference.
✔ Has excellent spoken and written English.
✔ Has strong mathematical understanding.
✔ Enjoys working as part of a brilliant team.
✔ Has high expectations without losing their sense of humour.
✔ Understands that relationships come before results.
✔ Has a strong moral compass and always does the right thing—even when nobody is watching.
✔ Pays attention to detail.
✔ Can follow intervention programmes carefully whilst adapting to children's needs.
✔ Is organised enough to juggle several interventions across the school.
✔ Can make children feel safe, valued and successful.
Experience?
Previous experience working with children is highly desirable.
However...
We're also interested in people who demonstrate commitment, professionalism and genuine passion.
A beautifully completed application form that shows thought, care and attention to detail tells us far more than pages of copied statements.
If you've taken the time to tell us why this role matters to you...
We'll absolutely take the time to read it.
