Teaching Assistant (Primary Phase)

Job Purpose

At Holy Trinity, we believe that every child should be encouraged to 'Aim high and let their light shine'. We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistant who will support children across the primary phase to achieve their full potential academically, socially and emotionally.

The successful candidate will work as part of a supportive and collaborative team, helping to create an inclusive, nurturing and inspiring learning environment where every child feels valued, respected and able to flourish.

Key Responsibilities

Supporting Children

• Provide high-quality support for children across the primary age range.

• Help pupils access learning and achieve success through encouragement, guidance and positive relationships.

• Support children with a range of strengths, interests and additional needs, adapting approaches where appropriate.

• Promote independence, confidence and resilience in all learners.

• Celebrate children's achievements and progress, both academically and personally.

• Support pupils with a high level of need, drawing on relevant experience and demonstrating an understanding of how to adapt support to meet complex and individual needs.

Promoting Inclusion and Positive Regard

• Demonstrate unconditional positive regard for all children and families.

• Foster a culture of kindness, respect, belonging and acceptance.

• Value and celebrate diversity, recognising the unique qualities, experiences and backgrounds of every individual.

• Support children to develop positive relationships and a strong sense of self-worth.

• Contribute to an environment where differences are embraced and all members of the school community are treated with dignity and respect.

Supporting Teaching and Learning

• Work alongside teachers to deliver engaging and purposeful learning experiences.

• Prepare resources and learning environments that enable children to succeed.

• Support individuals, groups and whole classes as directed.

• Encourage curiosity, creativity and a love of learning.

Working as Part of Our School Community

• Build positive relationships with children, families, colleagues and external professionals.

• Contribute to the warm, welcoming and cheerful atmosphere of the school.

• Work collaboratively with staff to ensure the best possible outcomes for children.
