WRAPAROUND CARE ASSISTANT

St Mary’s Church of England Primary School is looking for a kind, enthusiastic and reliable person to join our wraparound care team.
Our wraparound provision offers children a safe, welcoming and enjoyable environment before and after the school day. We are looking for someone who shares our commitment to helping every child feel happy, valued and able to shine.
Hours: Negotiable
Contract: Negotiable
Salary: TBC
Start date: Negotiable
The role
The successful candidate will:
warmly welcome children and help them feel safe and settled;
supervise children carefully and support their wellbeing;
plan and lead enjoyable, age-appropriate activities, including games, crafts and outdoor play;
help to prepare and serve simple, healthy food and drinks;
encourage positive behaviour, kindness, independence and respect;
maintain a safe, clean and well-organised environment;
communicate positively with children, families and colleagues; and
follow the school’s safeguarding, health and safety, behaviour and food-allergy procedures.
We are looking for someone who:
genuinely enjoys working with children;
is caring, patient, positive and approachable;
is dependable and able to work effectively as part of a team;
can build warm and professional relationships with children and families;
understands the importance of safeguarding and confidentiality;
supports the Christian vision and values of our school; and
is willing to undertake relevant training.
Experience of working with primary-aged children and a relevant childcare or playwork qualification would be desirable, but we also welcome applications from people with the right skills, values and enthusiasm.
