High Beeches Primary School "Making learning an adventure"

Primary St Albans District

High Beeches is a vibrant two-form entry primary school, situated on the eastern side of the pretty town of Harpenden, close to some of Hertfordshire’s most beautiful countryside and yet with London less than 30 minutes away by train.  Having recently expanded from single to two-form entry, we work hard to retain a nurturing family feel for our children and families; but now have the benefits of working in collaborative year group teams.

The school was rated outstanding by OFSTED  in March 2017.  Our highly successful curriculum promotes independence and creativity and we are always keen to find new ways to engage and challenge our pupils, to ensure they achieve the very best.  Our well established school values are central to the school’s work and, consequently, our pupils are highly engaged and their families are supportive and involved in their children's learning and development.

We have a committed and supportive staff and place an emphasis on professional development and growing leadership.  The school works closely with families, governors and other schools in the town to ensure that we offer all children a wide range of opportunities to develop their learning experiences. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the children and therefore each post is subject to an enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check.

"This is an Outstanding school. Staff appreciate the many opportunities they have to develop their skills and career aspirations. As a result, pupils benefit from highly skilled teaching and make outstanding progress in their learning and personal development."
