About the role
We are looking for an energetic, enthusiastic and inspirational SEND Teaching Assistant to join our warm, friendly and community-focussed Junior School. The role is to work on a 1:1 basis supporting a child in class.
Do you think that you could make a real difference to this child’s outcomes, academically, socially and emotionally, working closely with the Inclusion lead and class teachers in planning and carrying out this crucial role?
Experience with supporting individuals a variety of SEND needs at KS2 is desirable, although those with other transferable skills and experience of working with similarly aged children will also be considered.
We are looking for candidates who:
- Have an awareness and understanding of Special Educational Needs
- Are confident in their approach, nurturing but very determined.
- Are highly flexible and adaptable to become in tuned to children’s needs and demonstrate excellent communication skills and behaviour management.
- Have an understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorder
This contract is fixed term and full time, term time only, initially until July 2026 or until the child leaves the school.
