We are seeking an outstanding educational leader to join our senior leadership team as Assistant Headteacher for Curriculum, Assessment and Teaching & Learning.

The Role

As Assistant Headteacher, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the academic experience of our pupils. Working closely with the Headteacher and senior leadership team, you will:

  • Lead the strategic development of curriculum, teaching, and assessment across the school.
  • Ensure pupils have access to an engaging, inclusive curriculum that supports progress for all, including those with SEND and from disadvantaged backgrounds.
  • Drive whole-school strategies in teaching and learning, literacy, numeracy, and assessment.
  • Model excellent classroom practice, with a teaching commitment of 50%.
  • Support staff development through training, coaching, and performance management.
  • Contribute to school culture, behaviour, and safeguarding, ensuring high standards for all.

 

About You

We are looking for an ambitious and resilient leader who:

  • Is a qualified teacher with a degree and evidence of professional development for leadership.
  • Has outstanding teaching experience and a proven track record of improving pupil outcomes.
  • Demonstrates strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Is confident in curriculum design, assessment strategies, and using data to drive improvement.
  • Has experience working with vulnerable students and can inspire colleagues to do the same.
  • Is committed to inclusion, safeguarding, and promoting the values of our trust.

Safeguarding

This post involves high levels of contact with children and is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. An enhanced DBS check will be required.
