About the role
Join Our Governing Body as a Co-opted Governor at Aycliffe Drive Primary School
Aycliffe Drive Primary School is seeking dedicated individuals to join our Governing Body as co-opted governors. As a governor, you will serve as a volunteer, playing a crucial role in shaping the future of our school and its community.
The Role of a Governor
Governors collaborate with the Chair of Governors, Headteacher and senior leadership team to:
-
Define the school's vision, values, and strategic objectives.
-
Ensure accountability for educational outcomes and staff performance.
-
Oversee financial management, ensuring resources are used effectively.
This collective governance approach is vital to the school's success. Governors are expected to attend six full Governing Body meetings annually, typically held in the evenings. Additional responsibilities may include school visits and participation in training sessions.
Who We're Looking For
We welcome applications from individuals with diverse backgrounds and experiences. While specific expertise in areas such as finance, human resources, marketing, or education is beneficial, it is not required. What matters most is your commitment to supporting the school in providing an excellent education for its pupils.
Training and Support
Comprehensive training is provided to all governors, including access to online and face-to-face sessions. Additionally, a helpdesk is available five days a week to assist with any queries. Regular webinars and briefings ensure governors are informed about educational developments.
