About the role
We are seeking to appoint a part-time EYFS Teacher for a maternity cover from October half term 2025 for three days per week. This could be offered as a one-year fixed term position from September 2025 for the right person. There is potential to take on EYFS leadership as part of the role.
We can offer you:
A well-resourced classroom with an experienced and friendly EYFS team;
A small class with 15 reception and 10 nursery children;
Regular, reliable PPA and leadership time;
A recent Ofsted report (December 2024) which recognises that ‘school leaders, including governors, have taken positive steps to ensure the school has maintained its high standards. The school supports staff well and is considerate of their workload, well-being and training';
The 'best of both worlds' in our new federation of two schools. We enjoy the ‘family feel’ of a small setting where we get to know each child really well, along with the benefits and security that comes from being part of a larger organisation;
A commitment to your CPD. We invest well in staff development using links to the Diocese of St Albans, HFL Education and NPQ programmes;
Potential opportunity to develop leadership skills in the position of EYFS Lead Teacher;
A well-resourced school, extensive grounds in a beautiful village with a popular deli take away next door!
We are looking for someone who:
Loves the Early Years and is passionate about children’s early development;
Brings a kind and child-centred approach with high expectations;
Can establish and maintain good relationships with children, colleagues and families;
Understands the unique rewards and challenges of working in a small school;
Has high standards of professional conduct and personal integrity.
