About the role
Greenside School, a special school educating 200 learners in Stevenage, is looking for a part-time Family Support Worker. The 3-day-a-week (term-time) role is new at Greenside and will be attractive to someone with experience of family work in a school, who enjoys an autonomous role, and who wants a new challenge working with some of the most vulnerable children in society and their families.
Greenside is a welcoming school, and I recommend you visit our website (www.greenside.herts.sch.uk) to get to know our setting. We are a growing school and want a Family Support Worker to work within our support layer. Working alongside leaders, you will have a caseload of learners and be trained as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Person and be able to complete further study.
The role can be flexible around your own needs. The three-day-a-week role can flex, with the ability to swap days or have a set pattern. The freedom from working during school holidays could be attractive to those with young families.
Please take time to read the detailed job description, and I would encourage you to visit the school and talk about the role further.
This is a unique opportunity to work within a growing and vibrant special school in a role where you can make a real impact to the lives of others
Our school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and shortlisted candidates will be asked to share any relevant criminal history prior to interview.
The successful applicant will also be subject to enhanced DBS and barred list checks in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education.
