Reception Class Teacher – Maternity Cover

Contract: Fixed Term for one academic year
Location: Hormead CE First School, near Buntingford, Hertfordshire

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, fun-loving and committed class teacher to join our wonderful little village school for a maternity cover position in our Reception Class, starting in September 2025.

Hormead CE First School, founded in 1815, is a fully inclusive church school nestled in the beautiful countryside of Great Hormead, just outside Buntingford. Our school offers an inspiring learning environment with stunning grounds, where children attend Forest School once a week and enjoy specialist music lessons for an hour each week.

We are a small, friendly school where every child is truly known, valued and nurtured. Our recent Ofsted report celebrated the positive energy and strong community spirit that flows throughout our school. The children at Hormead are caring, fun-loving, and eager to learn. Our staff are passionate, dedicated, and work closely together, and our parents and governors provide wonderful support.

We welcome applications from experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs). You will work closely with our Nursery Teacher and EYFS Lead to ensure smooth transitions and continuity for our youngest learners.
