About the role

Are you a passionate and enthusiastic Early Years teacher looking for a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference at the very start of children’s school journey?

We are seeking a caring, creative and committed Reception Class Teacher to join our friendly and supportive Early Years team to provide maternity cover for approximately one year, starting in either November 2026 or January 2027.

This is a wonderful opportunity to join a nurturing and welcoming school where you will be supported to create an engaging and purposeful learning environment in which children feel happy, safe and excited to learn.

We are looking for someone who:

  • has a strong understanding of the EYFS framework and child development;

  • is passionate about providing high-quality learning through a balance of purposeful play and adult-led teaching;

  • has high expectations for all children and is committed to helping every child make strong progress;

  • understands the importance of developing strong foundations in communication and language, early reading, phonics, writing and mathematics;

  • creates a stimulating and inclusive learning environment, both indoors and outdoors;

  • builds warm, respectful relationships with children and positive partnerships with parents and carers;

  • is enthusiastic, reflective and keen to contribute to our Early Years team and the wider life of the school.

The successful candidate will also be expected to take on the role of Subject Leader for a curriculum subject, with appropriate support.

This is a fixed-term maternity cover position for approximately one year, commencing in November 2026 or January 2027, depending on the successful candidate’s availability.
