About the role
Not an easy job; an incredibly rewarding job.
Are you passionate about helping children who have experienced trauma? Does the opportunity of shaping a new SEMH Provision excite you? Do you have the confidence to plan and deliver activities to positively challenge and engage children in talk to develop essential social and emotional skills to navigate the world?
With increased demands on schools to meet the increasing SEMH needs of children, we are proactively developing a bespoke provision to provide a curriculum beyond the academic. A blend of Thrive, Therapeutic Thinking, Chimp Management, Restorative Practice and Protective Behaviours, our provision is grounded in research, evidence and rigorous training. Utilising these tools, we are striving to develop a provision for children with high levels of vulnerability. The successful candidate will lead this provision, guiding and supporting colleagues to reintegrate children into classroom learning.
The successful candidate will work closely with our SEMH Deputy Head, and will be supported through supervisions, joint planning and inhouse training to lead, plan and deliver SEMH provision to small groups of children in a dedicated space. Provision will be co-led with another member of the support team.
We’re not looking for someone who is trained for this role, we’re looking for someone who has the passion and skills to grow into this role.
A visit to school to meet the SEMH Deputy Head is strongly recommended to gain a clear understanding of the scope of this exciting venture.
Thrive training is desirable but not essential.
