About the role

We are seeking an (ideally, experienced) Teaching and Learning Assistant - however, if you are inexperienced but can show flair and aptitude, we would be delighted to consider you too!  

 

H1 (min) £23,656– H4 £25,183 (dependant on experience) Plus Fringe Pro Rata 

Initially for 24 hours pw – with the possibility of extending to full-time as the need arises. This is a fixed-term and term-time only contract, linked to SEN and EHCP needs within the school.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, committed, and ideally, experienced colleague to join our successful learning support team as soon as possible.  

You will need to be a good team player. There will be times when you will be working at the direction of the class teachers and SENDCo. However, you will also need to be able to work on your own initiative with a willingness to lead interventions. You must have the skill and confidence to assess the effectiveness of strategies used and the impact on learning and behaviour.  

Applicants will ideally have previous experience of working with children, including those with SEND. You should be qualified to at least a Level 2 NVQ linked to Children’s Care or Supporting Teaching & Learning in Schools (or equivalent). This role also includes supporting our wrap-around care and lunchtime duty as needed. A strong background in SEND or willingness to learn about how to support high needs pupils would be preferred.  

The successful applicant will: 

  • be keen to work as part of a close-knit team 

  • have strong literacy and numeracy skills 

  • be dedicated to ensuring all pupils needs are met 

  • be empathetic towards all pupils, including those with special educational needs and disabilities 

  • able to work independently and be flexible in approach 

  • be experienced or willing to support pupils in small groups and 1:1 within a school setting

• Ability to use modern technology. 

• Ability to work in, and contribute to, a team.
