About the role
Margaret Wix Primary School is seeking to appoint a caring, enthusiastic and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our welcoming and hardworking team.
The successful candidate will work within our Specialist Resource Provision (SRP), which supports 12 pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and communication and language needs. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference to the lives of children by helping them develop their communication, independence, social skills and confidence, enabling them to thrive both academically and personally.

Is passionate about supporting children with additional needs.
Has patience, empathy and a nurturing approach.
Can build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues.
Enjoys working as part of a collaborative team.
Is committed to inclusive practice and high expectations for all children.
Is willing to learn and develop their understanding of autism and speech, language and communication needs.
Previous experience of working with children with SEND, particularly autism and communication needs, would be desirable but is not essential. We value enthusiasm, commitment and a willingness to learn and training and support will be provided.
The role will include:
Supporting pupils within our Specialist Resource Provision and, where appropriate, in mainstream classrooms.
Delivering targeted interventions and small-group learning activities.
Promoting communication, language development, social interaction and emotional regulation.
Supporting pupils to develop independence and confidence.
Working closely with teachers, therapists and other professionals to implement personalised support strategies.
30 minutes of lunchtime supervisory duty each day.
At Margaret Wix Primary School, we are proud of our inclusive ethos and commitment to ensuring every child feels valued, supported and successful. We place great importance on professional development and offer a range of training opportunities, including INSET days and specialist SEND training. You will be joining a supportive and experienced team that is committed to achieving the very best outcomes for all children.
