About the role
We are looking to recruit a skilled and enthusiastic Sports Coach to enhance our existing teaching support team.
Do you have a passion for working with children? Do you enjoy encouraging children to develop their confidence and love for learning? At Markyate Village School, we believe in nurturing children and providing them with a school environment and a curriculum that excites, engages and inspires them to become confident learners. To achieve this, our school has a large Early Years unit, with new indoor and outdoor facilities, a wonderful reading dome, a polytunnel, a Dell with an amphitheatre and a new outdoor sports (MUGA) facility. Our team work together to ensure that teaching meets the needs of all our children and inspires them to be curious, ambitious learners.
We are looking for someone who:
- is driven to deliver high quality PE lessons suitable for all children
- is willing to deliver a range of extra curricular opportunities for our pupils
- inspires children and gives them an excellent start to their school life
- is passionate about helping pupils see the benefits of an active lifestyle
- has high expectations and aspirations for our children's achievements and behaviour
- has excellent communication skills and can build strong relationships with parents and the local community

This post is full or part-time (exact hours are flexible), Monday – Friday, term time only. This post is a fixed term contract for 1 year. The start date is September 2025 and the position works across key stages.
