About the Role:

We are seeking a passionate, resilient and skilled Teaching Assistant to join our specialist team at a dynamic SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) school. The successful candidate will primarily support students in Design Technology (DT), while also offering broader in-class support across subjects when required.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people who need it most.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging, differentiated lessons for Key Stage 3/4 students.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, fostering their academic and emotional growth.
  • Help manage classroom behavior in a calm and structured manner, supporting students in overcoming challenges.
  • Build positive relationships with students, ensuring they feel safe, respected, and motivated to succeed.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Previous experience working with students with SEMH, SEN, or in a school setting is desirable.
  • A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable students and helping them succeed.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, staff, and parents.
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience in challenging situations.
  • Ability to work as part of a team, collaborating with teachers, SENCO, and support staff.
  • A positive and flexible approach to working with young people.
