About the role
The Governors of Belswains Primary School wish to appoint a Teaching Assistant to work in the classroom supporting children’s learning. We are looking for an enthusiastic, committed and well-organised team player who is able to work under the direction of our class teachers and senior leaders: as well as use their own initiative to support the needs of our pupils.
The role will involve spending the majority of the classroom time working with identified groups of children based across KS1 or KS2. Applicants would ideally have previous experience of working with children or a Level 2 NVQ qualification in Child Care or Supporting Teaching & Learning in Schools (or equivalent). Candidates must also be confident in English and Mathematics abilities; and preferably hold at least a Grade C in GCSE English and Mathematics or equivalent.
The position is term time, Monday to Friday 08.30– 15:20 and will include supervising children during their lunch break. Initially this will be until the end of the 26-27 academic year, but there is scope for extension past this point.
The successful candidate will be reliable, enthusiastic and committed to children’s learning. They must be able to demonstrate the ability to move learning forwards, use their own initiative, have excellent behaviour management skills and a flexible approach to their work.

This role is paid at Herts H2 level which is currently £25,614- £26,427. However this is pro rata' against hours and weeks worked.
