We are seeking an inspirational and dedicated Early Years Lead to join our warm, welcoming and vibrant primary school in the middle of Hitchin with a sense of community at it’s core. Our Early Years environment is the nurturing and engaging heart of our school where our children feel valued, supported and inspired to start their lifelong learning journey.
This is a key leadership role for someone ready to make a lasting impact and help shape the future of our school as part of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT).

As Early Years Lead, you will have strategic responsibility for leading our EYFS provision, ensuring exceptional outcomes for all children. This role requires vision, creativity and a strong commitment to early learning, with the opportunity to work alongside a supportive and forward-thinking leadership team.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Demonstrate a strong track record of improving outcomes for young children
- Be a dynamic and reflective leader, passionate about early childhood education
- Be a team player with a collaborative approach, open to new ideas and innovation
- Be committed to making a real difference in the lives of children and the wider school
- Have successful experience of early years leadership
- Have a solid understanding of child development
- Have an understanding of high-quality teaching and learning strategies in the EYFS, and the ability to model this for others and support others to improve
- Have enthusiasm to work collaboratively with LA colleagues and Early Years leads
