About Us

High Beeches is a successful and popular two-form entry primary school, situated on the eastern side of Harpenden.  We are highly aspirational for our pupils and our distinctive and challenging, creative curriculum enables our pupils to make very good progress.  Our well-established school values are central to the school’s work.  Our pupils are highly engaged and well behaved, and their families are supportive and involved in their children's learning and development.

All of our staff say they would recommend High Beeches as a place to work!  We prioritise pupil and staff wellbeing and have a stable and friendly staff team and a collaborative working ethos, where professional development is supported and rewarded.  This was recognised in our most recent OFSTED inspection (June 2023), when we were awarded an ‘outstanding’ judgment for the second time.

We expect you to share our commitment to safeguarding and to promoting the welfare of our children.

About You

We are looking for people with a positive attitude and a passion for seeing children thrive and achieve.  Experience of working with children on a paid or voluntary basis and supporting them to make progress is desirable.

We want our pupils to be the best, so it is essential that the successful candidates can provide a model of communication, language and numeracy skills.  These should be reflected in high expectations of themselves and others as well as in good GCSE’s or at least a relevant level 2 qualification.

They should be able to follow direction, but will also need to work with initiative and discretion.  They will have high degrees of resilience and flexibility and will be able to contribute to our school’s positive ethos.  So, if you are a hardworking team player with a desire to improve outcomes for all children, we would love to hear from you and perhaps meet you informally.  We may close applications earlier than initially advertised if we find a suitable candidate.

High Beeches Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and visitors to share this commitment.  Appointment to this post is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, as well as other pre-appointment checks, including an online check.

Applications may close early if applications are received from strong candidates.
