About the role

The Harpenden Plus Partnership of Schools is looking for an enthusiastic, proactive and highly organised Team Assistant to join our friendly, award-winning team on a term-time only basis. The Harpenden Plus team work closely with 23 local schools to provide a wide range of support services for the families. 

Based at our office within Sauncey Wood Primary School, this role is for 8 hours per week (ideally worked on Tuesdays and Wednesdays). We are looking for someone who can also offer occasional flexibility to attend essential training or partnership events when required. 

As Team Assistant, you will play an important part in helping our small and dedicated team make a real difference to local families and this is a rewarding and varied role. 

Working alongside the Partnership Manager and Family Support Team, your responsibilities will include: 

  • Organising and co-facilitating emotional wellbeing programmes for children and young people. 

  • Coordinating sports and music events, including the administration of bookings and results. 

  • Managing counselling referrals and maintaining accurate records. 

  • Supporting family initiatives, including organising hygiene bags and Christmas gift projects. 

  • Reviewing and updating grant applications and funding documentation. 

  • Helping to maintain and develop the partnership's website and social media presence. 

  • Providing general administrative support to ensure the smooth running of the partnership. 

We are looking for someone who:  

  • Is a friendly team player able to work independently and prioritise their workload effectively. 

  • Is reliable, well organised and proactive, with excellent communication skills. 

  • Is confident using IT systems, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Office 365 applications. 

  • Is adaptable, enjoys learning new skills and can respond positively to new challenges. 

  • Has strong organisational and record-keeping skills, and experience of delivering courses to children. 

  • Holds GCSE qualifications (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics, and a Level 3 qualification. 

  • Demonstrates the highest standards of professionalism, discretion and confidentiality. 

  • Is willing to undertake other reasonable duties as requested by the Partnership Manager.
