If you've previously taught or trained to teach in the UK and are considering a return to the profession, the Department for Education (DfE) offers support to help you make the transition back into the classroom.

The Department for Education (DfE) Return to Teaching programme

You may be eligible for free one-to-one support from a Return to Teaching Adviser, who can help with:

• exploring your return-to-teaching options

• finding suitable vacancies

• application and interview preparation

• accessing professional development and subject knowledge support

• understanding changes in curriculum and classroom practice

Teachers returning to shortage subjects, including maths, physics and languages, may be able to access additional subject-specific support.
